Without a record label or publicist, it became the #1 new release on Amazon mp3 jazz within the first 3 days of sales, the #1 most requested new release on WRTI 90.1 FM radio with more than 350,000 listeners, and is in rotation at radio stations internationally. In his five-year career, alto saxophonist Louis Fouché has performed across the U.S. and internationally with world-renowned artists in various genres, including nine-time Grammy-winning Latin pianist Eddie Palmieri, two-time Edison award-winning trumpeter Christian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott), and Grammy Hall of Fame funk bassist George Porter Jr. (of The Meters), among others. Fouché wields a distinctively rich, blues-rooted sound on the saxophone, and he’s now bringing his own music to the global stage. The "Subjective Mind" EP consists of three instrumental tracks. On each track, Fouché fuses blues and soul with a set of his diverse musical influences – starting with funk and drum & bass on the opener "Perceptive Delusion," R&B on Romberg and Hammerstein’s 1928 classic "Softly, As in a Morning Sunrise," and rock and classical on the closing number "Silver Lining." Before pursuing music full-time, Fouché earned degrees in physics and chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The title of the EP, "Subjective Mind," explores the contrast between his objective, analytical focus in science and the subjective, emotional emphasis in his music. This concert at Ginny's marks the second NYC club performance of Louis Fouché with his band since the release of his debut EP in December 2012. His band consists of some of this generation’s most dynamic musicians – Corey Bernhard on piano, Christopher Smith on bass, and Eric Doob on drums.
